Darryl DeHaan

Darryl DeHaan: Developer

Darryl is not your typical developer. For one thing, he builds canoes. Gee, maybe we shouldn’t have said that. At least not so early in his bio.

Anyway, moving right along… Darryl’s classical training as a technical illustrator gives him a creative edge—that strong “right brain” that is not often seen on the developer’s résumé. Blend those creative genes with an incessant need and desire to solve the Web’s endlessly complex problems and you start to get an idea of what Darryl brings to the table. Developing enterprise-level websites since 1997—that means he’s over a hundred years old in web-years—Darryl has more than a few custom content management systems under his belt.

Speaking of ye olde CMS, if you are using (or considering) Open Text’s RedDot CMS, then Darryl is your guy. He has been actively developing in—and extending—RedDot for five years. In that time, he has been instrumental in elevating Thrillworks’ status in the RedDot community to guru status through the development of proprietary modules, which extend RedDot’s toolset and make it even easier to use. When Darryl isn’t tangled up in code, he is perfectly happy working in his basement woodshop building furniture and—yes, now’s the time—cedar canoes.
